Many of our patients choose to have whitening upon completion of their orthodontic treatment. It can be the final step to achieving the perfect smile. It's also a better alternative than permanently altering the tooth’s structure to support other treatments like veneers.

When you come to our practice, we will assess your suitability for whitening treatment. We will do so by checking your teeth and gums and taking x-rays if necessary. This will ensure that tooth whitening is safe and appropriate for you and will achieve the desired results.
You'll get to see on a chart what shade your teeth are before the treatment and what shade you're likely to achieve. At the end of the treatment the dentist will show you the actual result so you can understand how effective it was. You will also see when you look in the mirror!
If you are going ahead with treatment, we will make custom whitening trays for you. These trays can be worn at night while you sleep, or for short periods of time during the day. You will also receive a specialised whitening solution to use in the comfort of your own home.
Your dentist will discuss the level of whitening you wish to achieve to determine the number of treatments you need. Then, you will be given a professional-grade whitening solution to add to your custom trays. Make sure to follow the instructions of your dentist.
You may experience some sensitivity during your treatment, but this is normal and should fade away quickly.
Online products and over-the-counter whitening treatments aren’t always safe. They don’t always disclose the precise chemical used to whiten your smile - and won’t achieve the same results as professional-grade products.
It is illegal for beauticians or salon staff to offer teeth whitening treatment. Getting a non-dental whitening treatment could result in burned gums, blistered lips, or worse. Only dentists have the proper training and knowledge for safe and effective whitening treatment.
